Crash and disclosure via unchecked PICT palette index
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in LibreOffice 26.2 before 26.2.5 allows attackers to read process memory or crash the application via a crafted PICT image. The PICT importer uses a color-palette index from image data without checking it against the palette entry count, so an oversized index reads beyond the palette. Exploitation requires a user to open or import a document containing the image; the bounded consequences are process-memory disclosure and an application crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
