Arbitrary file write via embedded Firebird backup
Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026
Path traversal in The Document Foundation LibreOffice Calc 26.2 before 26.2.5 allows attackers to write files via a crafted spreadsheet. A saved SQL data link can open an embedded Firebird database whose backup functionality writes outside its private directory to a path selected by the document. The file must be opened in Calc, and the write is limited to locations writable by the LibreOffice user's account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
