Authenticated service interruption via unbounded memory allocation
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Elastic Kibana allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through a crafted machine learning request. The machine learning feature processes specially crafted request data without sufficient input validation, allowing allocations to consume available server memory. Exploitation requires the feature to be enabled and accessible to a low-privileged role, and successful requests make Kibana unavailable to all users.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.19.18
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.3.7
- Affected versionversion=9.4.0 <=9.4.3
