SQL injection via unescaped deleteBatch WHERE binds
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
SQL injection in CodeIgniter 4 4.3.0 through 4.7.3 allows remote attackers to execute SQL through deleteBatch() where() conditions. Query Builder substitutes bound WHERE values directly into generated SQL while ignoring their escape flags, leaving them unquoted and executable as SQL syntax. Exploitation requires an application to pass user-controlled input to where() before deleteBatch(); regular delete() calls are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
