Account takeover via time-derived default passwords
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Predictable passwords in Omnispace Agora-Project before 26.10.0 allow remote attackers to take over accounts via generated credentials. Txt::defaultPassword() generates temporary or default passwords using PHP's uniqid(), which derives values from server time in microseconds rather than secure randomness. Exploitation requires observing or approximating account creation time and using the generated password before the legitimate user logs in, granting access with the targeted account's permissions.
