Third-party connection via unvalidated FTP PASV address
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Server-side request forgery in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.0 through 2.4.68 allows remote attackers to induce third-party TCP connections via FTP proxying. In mod_proxy_ftp, the proxy accepts an untrusted FTP server's PASV reply address without adequately validating it and uses that address for the FTP data connection. Exposure requires an FTP forward-proxy configuration and an attacker-controlled FTP destination; the established consequence is an outbound connection, not arbitrary data access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
