Sandbox escape via Graphite use after free
Published Apr 15, 2026 · Updated Apr 15, 2026
Use after free in Graphite in Google Chrome before 147.0.7727.101 allows remote attackers controlling a renderer to escape the sandbox. Google identifies a stale-object access in Graphite, but the restricted Chromium issue does not disclose the affected function or lifetime error. Exploitation requires crafted HTML, user interaction, and prior renderer-process compromise; success crosses the browser sandbox boundary and can affect host confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
