Agent logout via image URL path traversal
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Path traversal in Zammad before 7.1.2 allows remote attackers to make an authenticated agent's browser send protected API requests. The image URL sanitizer accepts interior traversal sequences in attacker-controlled img src or srcset values, so browser path resolution escapes the allowed image path. Exploitation requires an agent to view a crafted inbound email or ticket; the request carries that agent's session cookie and can force logout without further interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
