Restricted content disclosure via duplicate source

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Missing authorization in page duplication in django CMS before 5.0.9 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted content via a crafted source field. DuplicatePageForm accepts any Page in its hidden source field, AddPageForm does not narrow or validate that field against the requesting user, and save() copies the chosen page with permissions=False, stripping the source page's view restrictions from the duplicate. Exploitation requires staff access with permission to add pages and is relevant when CMS_PERMISSION is enabled; copied placeholders and plugins become readable on the attacker's site and can be exposed to anonymous visitors.
