Stored XSS via unescaped Media Manager type name
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Stored XSS in REDAXO Core 5.21.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hijack administrator sessions via a type name. The mediaIsInUse() handler inserts the stored name into raw backend warning HTML without rex_escape() when referenced media is deleted. An administrator with Media Manager access must plant the payload, and another administrator must attempt deletion; execution enables session theft or unauthorized backend actions.
