CVE-2026-62902Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via XPS resource loading

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Information disclosure in WPF in Microsoft .NET before 8.0.30 and 9.0.19 allows remote attackers to disclose credentials via a crafted document. In XPS-related loading paths, WPF could follow resource references outside the current package and send default NTLM, Kerberos, or Negotiate credentials to untrusted URIs during document parsing. Exploitation requires user interaction on Windows and results in network confidentiality exposure through outbound authenticated fetches or package-escape resource loads, with no published integrity or availability impact.
