Credential disclosure via embedded repository URLs
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Information disclosure in Microsoft .NET before 8.0.30, 9.0.19, and 10.0.11 allows remote attackers to read embedded credentials over a network. In Microsoft.Build.Tasks.Git, the GitOperations.GetRepositoryUrl path preserves credentials in git remote URLs, and Source Link can write those unsanitized URLs into assembly metadata and PDB content used by Microsoft.SourceLink.AzureRepos.Git. Exposure requires builds or packages produced from repository URLs that include credentials, so the consequence is disclosure from shipped binaries or symbols rather than code execution or data tampering.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
