Process crash via trailing-whitespace selector
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Improper array-index validation in Dasel 3.0.0 through 3.11.1 allows local users to crash the process with a trailing-whitespace selector. parseCurRune advances its index to the end of the selector while skipping whitespace, then reads the exhausted array position without a bounds check. The selector must reach the CLI or library query path; exploitation interrupts only that process and does not affect confidentiality or integrity.
