CVE-2026-62764Network attack vector

Authenticated service shutdown via missing return

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Improper privilege handling in Apache Accumulo 2.1.4 through 2.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to shut down cluster services. In AbstractServer, a missing return after the system-permission check lets a denied graceful-shutdown request continue to the server handler. Any authenticated low-privileged account can stop the compaction coordinator, compactors, garbage collector, manager, monitor, tablet servers, or scan servers, interrupting cluster availability.
