Developer-role modification of hidden merge requests
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Incorrect authorization in GitLab CE/EE allows remote authenticated users with Developer access to modify hidden merge requests. GitLab identifies the Merge Requests API as the locus but has not disclosed the request path, controller, policy, failed permission check, or other required conditions. Affected versions are 15.10 through 18.10.7, 18.11 through 18.11.4, and 19.0 through 19.0.1; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized alteration of hidden merge-request data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=15.10 <18.10.8
- Affected versionversion=18.11 <18.11.5

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
