Unauthenticated file disclosure via case-variant requests
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Access control bypass in Grav before 2.0.4 allows remote attackers to read sensitive files via case-variant HTTP requests. The shipped .htaccess and webserver-configs/htaccess.txt deny rules compare protected paths and extensions case-sensitively because they omit Apache's [NC] flag, so alternate capitalization can evade RewriteRule blocking on case-insensitive filesystems. Exposure requires Apache with Grav's shipped rules on a case-insensitive filesystem such as Windows, macOS, or some Docker-mounted volumes, and it enables direct retrieval of files under user/accounts, user/config, and similar protected locations, including password hashes and security settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
