Physical code execution via unsigned maintenance download
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Code download without integrity checks in Siemens AG Reyrolle 7SR5 before 2.70 allows physically proximate attackers to execute unsigned code. The boot-time maintenance mode, activated by a physical key sequence, downloads program code from a network server and executes it without checking authenticity or integrity. Physical access during device startup is required, after which arbitrary code can take control of relay operations.
