Arbitrary file deletion via unconstrained upload path
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026
Path traversal in Muffin Group Betheme 28.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary local files. The upload_icons() workflow passes the user-controlled mfn-icon-upload path to a filesystem move operation without restricting resolution to the uploads directory. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and traversal outside that directory permits deletion of files writable by the WordPress process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
