Cross-origin data theft and writes via wildcard CORS
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Permissive CORS in the Grav API plugin before 1.0.0-rc.16 allows attackers with a valid token to read and write API data cross-origin. The plugin’s CORS middleware emits Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * and permits Authorization and X-API-Token headers on authenticated responses and preflights. Exploitation requires a valid leaked token and a browser visit to an attacker-controlled page; resulting reads and writes inherit the token user’s API permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
