Authenticated UDF creation via missing privilege check
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Improper privilege management in TAOS Data TDengine before 3.4.1.15 allows remote authenticated users to create user-defined functions. On a TDengine Cloud DB instance, the authorization path accepts CREATE UDF from a Data Reader admin_user despite the role's read-only policy for non-database objects. Access to the Cloud DB instance with that role is required; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized object creation, not code execution or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
