Stored XSS via unnormalized javascript href schemes
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Stored XSS in XDSoft Jodit before 4.12.31 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via an obfuscated javascript: link. sanitizeHTMLElement tests href with a case-sensitive literal prefix check that neither lowercases the scheme nor strips control bytes, tabs, or newlines. An attacker needs content-writing access, and script runs in the rendering page's origin only after a victim clicks the stored link; consumers that re-sanitize output are unaffected.
