CVE-2026-62315Network attack vector

Authenticated mass assignment via set_value

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Mass assignment in Frappe Framework 16.31.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify protected fields via set_value. In frappe/client.py, frappe.client.set_value tests the unparsed fieldname argument against forbidden default and child-table fields, then parses dictionary input into individual keys and passes them to doc.update(). Valid credentials and reachability to the client endpoint are required, and the result is unauthorized record modification within the application rather than code execution.
