Authenticated file inclusion via non-recursive traversal filtering
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Local file inclusion in WP Media BackWPup 5.6.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files via a REST request. The getblock endpoint passes block_name through a non-recursive str_replace that removes traversal text only once, so crafted sequences such as ....// survive normalization and select arbitrary PHP files. Administrator access, or delegated backup permissions, is required; included files can expose wp-config.php and execute code when a suitable PHP file is present.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
