Unauthenticated account takeover via forged JWT sessions
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Authentication bypass in ClawVet before 0.7.5 allows remote attackers to impersonate self-hosted API users and read account secrets. The API exposes userId values without authentication, while auth.ts verifies HS256 cg_session cookies with a known fallback secret also shipped in .env.example. Network access to an API using that default is sufficient to read a victim's email, plan, and apiKey and perform authenticated API operations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
