Authorization bypass via mismatched execution environments
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.6.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute node actions beyond approved permissions. Node exec approval evaluates one gateway environment, while execution can use a different node environment, so the approved context does not bind the action actually run. Exploitation requires the affected feature to be enabled and reachable by a lower-trust input path; successful use can execute or persist actions with the node's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
