Unauthorized plugin installation via skipped policy check
Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw 2026.6.5 through 2026.6.8 allows remote authenticated users to install plugins beyond policy. The plugin install wrappers permit the affected path to bypass the configured security.installPolicy check before installation continues. Exploitation requires the feature to be enabled and reachable by lower-trust input, and installed code can execute or persist unauthorized actions.
