Unauthenticated open redirect via logout parameter
Published Apr 13, 2026 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Open redirect in WPEverest User Registration & Membership 5.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to redirect users after logout. The redirect_to_on_logout handler passes the GET parameter through esc_url_raw() and then to wp_redirect(), which accepts external hosts instead of restricting the destination. No account is required, but a user must open the crafted logout link; successful exploitation sends that user to an attacker-chosen site for phishing.
