Information disclosure via out-of-bounds read
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Remote Desktop Client in supported Microsoft Windows releases allows remote attackers to read memory over a network. Microsoft has disclosed only that Remote Desktop Client reads past a buffer boundary on network-supplied data; no public advisory or patch analysis identified the affected routine or message field. Reachability depends on a vulnerable client processing attacker-controlled RDP traffic, and Microsoft's CVSS assessment requires user interaction, so the published impact is bounded to information disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
