File overwrite via unchecked upload filename collisions
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Missing authorization in FileRise before 3.18.0 allows remote attackers to overwrite existing shared-folder files via same-name uploads. UploadModel replaces destinations through move_uploaded_file() or truncates them with fopen(..., 'wb') without collision authorization, retaining the original uploader metadata. Public uploads require a valid upload-enabled share token and any configured password; authenticated upload-only users also replace files without edit authority, destroying or changing existing content.
