Authentication bypass in Nixpkgs before the 25.11 and 26.05 channel fixes allows local users to access MySQL as root without a password. The services.mysql module initializes root@localhost under MySQL or Percona Server without password or UNIX-socket peer authentication. Reachability requires a nondefault server package and unchanged authentication settings; any local account can read, alter, or delete every database.
