Stored XSS via permitted iframe srcdoc attribute
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Stored XSS in the rich-text editor in Code16 Sharp before 9.22.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. The sanitizer permits the iframe srcdoc attribute and only entity-encodes its nested markup, which browsers decode before parsing it as an iframe document. Exploitation requires permission to edit an Editor field and a victim to view the stored content, enabling session hijacking, unauthorized actions, account takeover, privilege escalation, or administrative-data disclosure.
