Privilege escalation via unescaped primary-key identifiers
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
SQL injection in pgpartman's pg_partman before 5.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL with background-worker privileges. inherit_template_properties() manually double-quotes primary-key names from pg_attribute.attname without escaping embedded quotes, allowing a crafted identifier to break out of ALTER TABLE. A partman_user must own a template table and await child creation; the default superuser worker role permits database-wide compromise and operating-system commands as the PostgreSQL account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
