Message exfiltration via attachment filename header injection
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
CRLF injection in ZBateson MailMimeParser before 3.0.6 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to forge MIME headers. MultipartHelper::createAndAddPartForAttachment passes transliterated filenames to MimePart::setRawHeader without removing CR or LF, while decoding paths can restore those bytes. Exploitation requires an application to build or forward mail with an attacker-influenced filename; an injected Bcc header can disclose the outgoing message.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
