Unauthorized database writes via read-only classifier bypass
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authorization bypass in Bytebase DBHub before 0.22.6 allows remote attackers to write database data through an unauthenticated MCP endpoint. The read-only classifier checks only each statement's first keyword, while connector-level controls are skipped because their configuration value is never populated. Any caller able to reach execute_sql can pass side-effecting SELECT functions; impact ranges from sequence tampering to host file access and code execution when the database role is privileged.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
