Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via missing API permission
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Information disclosure in InvenTree before 1.4.0 allows remote attackers to read plugin metadata and non-secret settings through API GET requests. Three plugin-settings views replace the default permissions with GlobalSettingsPermissions, which accepts safe methods without checking authentication. Network reachability is the only gate; protected secret values remain masked, limiting exposure to metadata and non-secret configuration.
