Tenant isolation bypass via mismatched sort order
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Project Capsule Capsule before 0.13.7 allows remote authenticated users to bypass forbidden metadata restrictions. ForbiddenListSpec.ExactMatch sorts denied keys case-insensitively but searches them in byte order, causing api.ValidateForbidden to miss present keys. Exploitation requires tenant-owner rights and a forbidden list whose case-insensitive and byte orderings differ; consequences depend on the missed key.
