Authenticated RCE via dataset SQL injection and eval
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
SQL injection in DIRAC FileCatalog before 8.0.79, 9.0.22, and 9.1.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The checkDataset path interpolates caller-controlled datasetName into an FC_MetaDatasets query, then passes attacker-controlled MetaQuery data to Python eval. Any authenticated user who can invoke the service can execute code as the DIRAC service account, exposing configuration, database credentials, proxies, and tokens and permitting log alteration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 6r0, < 8.0.79
- Affected versionversion=>= 9.0.0a1, < 9.0.22
