CVE-2026-61609Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authentication lockout via shared global rate-limit bucket

Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026

Denial of service in Pterodactyl Panel 1.7.0 through 1.12.4 allows remote attackers to block login and two-factor authentication. The authentication limiter in RouteServiceProvider::configureRateLimiting() omits per-client keying, so all login and checkpoint requests increment one constant cache bucket. About ten unauthenticated checkpoint requests per minute exhaust the bucket, returning HTTP 429 to every user and locking out administrators while traffic continues.
