Unauthenticated fund drain via DID payer resolution
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authentication bypass in IXO Foundation IXO Blockchain before 8.0.0 allows remote attackers to drain victim balances through crafted x/bonds transactions. Bond handlers resolve a payer from a DID verification method blockchainAccountID but fail to verify that the address belongs to the transaction signer, allowing attacker-controlled DIDs to redirect victims' balances into attacker bonds. Any account with a bond-usable token was exposed without victim keys or signatures; the flaw was exploited on mainnet and x/bonds is disabled in v8.0.0.
