Reflected XSS via unescaped exception messages
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Reflected XSS in @adonisjs/http-server 8.0.0-next.0 through 8.2.0 and 9.0.0 through 9.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript. The default HTML path in ExceptionHandler.handle inserts an error.message containing the requested missing-route URL into a paragraph without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires disabled debug mode, no applicable custom status page or JSON response, and a victim opening the crafted URL; script runs in the application origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
