CVE-2026-61520Network attack vector

Internal service access via unsafe image proxy

Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

SSRF in Simple Machines Forum 2.1 before 2.1.7 and 3.0 before commit b4d23df allows remote authenticated users to reach internal services. The image proxy signs attacker-controlled BBCode image URLs and fetches them without rejecting resolved private, loopback, or link-local addresses. A forum account is required; successful requests can access cloud metadata endpoints, internal web applications, and container services.
