Root command execution via ping parameter injection
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
OS command injection in Netis Systems NX10 firmware 4.0.1.5808 and 3.0.0.4142 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The ping diagnostic handler interpolates the IpAddr parameter into a shell command passed to system() after applying a denylist that leaves command substitution and alternate field-separator expansion available. Administrator access to the management interface is required, and successful exploitation grants root-level control of the router.
