Memory corruption via malformed JSON error reporting
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Apache Lucy all versions allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via malformed JSON input. The published advisory identifies the JSON parser's error reporter as the locus but does not disclose the affected function or boundary error. Reachability depends on an embedding application passing attacker-controlled JSON to the library; no standalone Lucy service is implicated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
