Authenticated code execution via unrestricted script path
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Path traversal in PraisonAI before 1.6.78 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary scripts through SkillTools. SkillTools.run_skill_script() expands and absolutizes script_path, then passes the selected file to subprocess.run() without confirming that it remains under the working directory. Exploitation requires low privileges; YAML approval or PRAISONAI_AUTO_APPROVE can bypass the tool gate, and scripts run as the PraisonAI process account.
