Unauthenticated tool access via optional API key
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Authentication bypass in PraisonAI before 4.6.78 allows remote attackers to enumerate and invoke MCP tools through HTTP-stream requests. The mcp_post path skips bearer-token checks when api_key is None, while the dispatcher forwards tool arguments without validating the advertised inputSchema. Remote reachability requires an operator to run the transport without an API key and bind it beyond the default 127.0.0.1 address; confirmed impact excludes arbitrary code execution and file reads.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
