Local privilege escalation via crafted IOCTL write
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in AutomationDirect Productivity Suite before 4.7.0.47 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory with a crafted IOCTL request. The affected component writes beyond a kernel-memory buffer while processing attacker-controlled IOCTL data; the driver, IOCTL code, and faulty routine are undisclosed. A low-privileged local account and a high-complexity trigger are required; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges or destabilizes the system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
