Service interruption via unbounded SASL data frames
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Apache Thrift Java bindings before 0.25.0 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt a SASL-protected service. TSaslTransport accepts a peer-declared post-authentication data-frame length without enforcing a size limit before buffering the frame. The affected path requires a Java service using SASL and a peer that completes authentication; excessive allocation interrupts service availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
