Local privilege escalation via use-after-free
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Microsoft Windows Graphics Kernel allows local users on affected Windows builds to elevate privileges. Microsoft identifies the flaw only as a use-after-free in the graphics kernel and has not disclosed the freed object, triggering operation, or reuse path. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access and high-complexity conditions, after which the attacker gains elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
