Process interruption via unchecked encrypted-content length
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in wolfSSL 5.8.0 through 5.9.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt a process via crafted PKCS7 EnvelopedData. wc_PKCS7_DecodeEnvelopedData advances through pkiMsg using the encrypted-content length without verifying that the offset plus length remains within pkiMsgSz. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled S/MIME or CMS content to the decoder; no memory write is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
