Service interruption via unbounded query resource allocation

Resource allocation without limits in IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9 and 12.1.0 through 12.1.4 allows local users to interrupt service. A crafted query involving range-partitioned tables consumes application-heap resources without effective limits; IBM withholds the responsible functionality and replication details. A low-privilege authenticated user must be able to execute the query; the resulting memory-allocation failure affects availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
